We're looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join a successful, family-run business based in Runcorn.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys more than just producing the numbers. You'll take ownership of management accounts and reporting while also getting involved in projects, costing, analysis and commercial decision-making across the business.

Description

  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts
  • Produce budgets, forecasts and variance analysis
  • Analyse costs, margins and business performance
  • Support with project costing and financial analysis
  • Monitor project spend and profitability
  • Provide financial insight to support business decisions
  • Work closely with operational teams to understand costs and performance
  • Identify areas for cost control and process improvement
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Support year-end processes and liaise with external accountants/auditors
  • Develop and improve financial reporting and processes
  • Get involved in ad-hoc projects and commercial analysis as required

Profile

  • Previous experience in a Management Accountant or similar role
  • Strong management accounting and month-end experience
  • Good understanding of costing, budgets and variance analysis
  • Experience working with projects or project-based costs would be beneficial
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • The confidence to work with stakeholders across the business
  • A proactive approach and the ability to work independently
  • A desire to add value rather than simply produce reports
