An opportunity has arisen for an experienced solicitor to join a respected law firm in Lincoln as an Internal Compliance and Risk Solicitor.
This is a senior-level position offering genuine influence within the business, working closely alongside the firm's COLP and leadership team to help safeguard the firm's reputation, strengthen client care standards and shape its approach to risk and compliance.
This is not a traditional fee-earning role.
Instead, you will be at the heart of the firm's decision-making processes, providing practical legal advice on complex complaints, professional negligence matters and regulatory risk.
You'll play a key role in identifying issues before they escalate, supporting continuous improvement and helping the firm deliver the highest standards of client service.
The Opportunity
As part of a collaborative and forward-thinking leadership environment, you will advise on a broad range of compliance and risk-related matters across the firm.
Your responsibilities will include
- Advising on professional negligence risks, claims and exposure
- Managing complex client complaints from investigation through to resolution
- Assessing liability, risk and potential outcomes
- Liaising with insurers, brokers and external counsel
- Supporting claims strategy and risk mitigation initiatives
- Providing clear, commercially focused advice to senior stakeholders
- Contributing to the development of governance, compliance and client care processes
- Identifying opportunities to improve operational practices and reduce future risk
About You
This role will suit a solicitor who enjoys solving complex problems, influencing senior decision-makers and helping organisations operate more effectively.
You will ideally have
- Qualified Solicitor status
- A strong background in professional negligence, litigation or dispute resolution
- Experience handling complaints, claims or regulatory matters
- Excellent analytical and investigative skills
- Sound commercial judgement and attention to detail
- The ability to communicate confidently with senior stakeholders
- An interest in risk management, governance and continuous improvement
