We are seeking an experienced and proactive Financial Controller to oversee our financial operations and ensure the ongoing financial health of our organisation.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented finance professional who is adept at managing end-to-end accounting functions, maintaining compliance, and providing insightful financial reporting to support strategic decision-making.
Day-to-day of the role
- Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and management reports.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, account analysis, and manage month-end and year-end close procedures.
- Manage cash flow forecasting, cash management activities, and banking relationships.
- Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial policies.
- Utilise Xero accounting software to maintain accurate financial records and improve reporting efficiency.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes through variance analysis and financial insights.
- Ensure payroll is processed accurately and in compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support business planning and operational decisions.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including GAAP, IFRS, SOX compliance, and double-entry bookkeeping.
- Proven experience producing financial reports, conducting account reconciliations, and performing financial analysis.
- Advanced proficiency in Xero accounting software.
- Solid experience managing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- CIS experience or exposure to construction environment would be beneficial.
- Strong technical accounting skills, including general ledger management, balance sheet reconciliations, and account analysis.
- The ability to interpret complex financial data and present clear, actionable recommendations.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and wider financial management responsibilities.
- Excellent organisational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
