Winsearch is recruiting for a Systems Engineer to join a growing Infrastructure and Platform Services team supporting enterprise-scale cloud, infrastructure and platform technologies.
This is an excellent opportunity for an infrastructure professional looking to further develop their expertise across cloud services, virtualisation, container platforms and modern infrastructure technologies within a complex technical environment.
You'll play a key role in supporting secure, reliable and resilient technology services across both cloud and on-premise environments while contributing to ongoing automation and modernisation initiatives.
The Role
As a Systems Engineer, you'll be responsible for supporting and maintaining enterprise infrastructure platforms, assisting with cloud administration and ensuring the smooth operation of critical business services.
Working alongside senior engineers and technical architects, you'll gain exposure to a broad range of technologies while helping to improve platform performance, reliability and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the administration and operation of cloud and on-premise infrastructure.
- Maintain and support Windows Server and Linux environments.
- Assist with the deployment, configuration and management of Microsoft Azure services.
- Support virtualisation and enterprise hosting platforms.
- Assist with the administration of Kubernetes and Open Shift environments.
- Monitor infrastructure performance, availability and capacity.
- Support incident resolution, problem management and service request activities.
- Assist with backup, disaster recovery and business continuity processes.
- Implement infrastructure changes in line with established standards and procedures.
- Contribute to automation and Infrastructure as Code initiatives.
- Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
- Work closely with senior engineers to resolve technical issues and enhance service reliability.
About You
We're looking for a motivated Systems Engineer with infrastructure or cloud support experience and a genuine interest in modern platform technologies.
You should have experience in some of the following areas
- Microsoft Azure administration and cloud services
- Windows Server and Linux operating systems
- Infrastructure support and systems administration
- Virtualisation technologies
- Kubernetes and container platforms
- Infrastructure monitoring and performance management
- Backup and disaster recovery processes
- Automation and scripting
- Infrastructure as Code concepts
- Technical troubleshooting and incident management
- Required Experience
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Up to three years' experience in infrastructure support, systems administration, cloud support or technical operations.
- Understanding of enterprise infrastructure and cloud computing technologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new technologies.
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative technical team environment.
Desirable Certifications & Experience
- Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900)
- Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
- Comp TIA Network+ or Server+
- Linux certifications
- Exposure to Kubernetes, Open Shift or container technologies
- ITIL Foundation certification
