Working on behalf of a leading FMCG manufacturer, this is an exciting new opportunity for an Electrical Mechanical Engineer to step into a Lead Reliability Engineer position, having had previous multi-year experience within a manufacturing or plant maintenance environment.

What You'll Be Doing - Electrical Mechanical Engineer
In this role, you won't just maintain equipment - you'll help drive reliability across the site.
You'll be the go-to mechanical engineering lead on shift, supporting both your team and production to keep everything running safely and efficiently.
You'll be
- Taking ownership of CMMS work orders and keeping mechanical maintenance activity up to date
- Leading and supporting PPM and reactive maintenance on mechanical plant and production equipment
- Diagnosing and resolving mechanical faults to reduce downtime, with support on electrical issues where needed
- Planning and organising maintenance activity to improve line performance and availability
- Working closely with production teams to hit performance targets
- Supporting shutdowns, overhauls and planned mechanical maintenance activities
- Coordinating contractors and making sure work is done safely and correctly
- Driving continuous improvement ideas that make the site better every day
- Supporting and developing shift engineers through coaching and training
- Making sure safety, GMP and food safety standards are always met
- Keeping tools, equipment and critical plant in top condition
- What You'll Need to Bring
We're looking for someone practical, organised and confident in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical fault-finding ability, ideally with some electrical exposure
- Multi-year experience in a production or manufacturing engineering environment
- Hands-on plant maintenance background (not just theory)
- Well organised, with the ability to plan maintenance work effectively
- Confidence supervising engineers or contractors on shift
- Good understanding of health & safety standards (IOSH desirable)
- Comfortable using CMMS systems and basic IT tools
- Strong communication and team working skills
- A proactive, "fix it properly" mindset
Qualifications Required for Senior Mechanical Engineer
- Mechanical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, HNC, HND or equivalent)
- Multi-year hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance of production equipment
- Basic electrical fault-finding knowledge desirable (18th Edition or equivalent a bonus, not essential)
- FLT licence (nice to have, not essential)
