An established engineering and manufacturing business in Portsmouth is seeking a Technical Sales Manager to drive growth within its injection moulding tooling, jigs and fixtures division. This opportunity would suit an experienced Technical Sales professional or someone from a Toolmaking, Tool Design, Manufacturing Engineering or Project Engineering background looking to move into a more customer-facing commercial role.
Working with customers across automotive, aerospace and advanced manufacturing sectors, you'll manage technical enquiries, quotations, customer relationships and business development activities while acting as the link between clients and the engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop existing customer accounts and generate new business opportunities.
- Manage RFQs and convert enquiries into profitable projects.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications and CAD data.
- Prepare quotations for:
- Injection mould tools
- Plastic and rubber mould tooling
- Jigs and fixtures
- Production tooling solutions
- Lead technical discussions with customers.
- Support Design for Manufacture (DFM) reviews.
- Liaise with Design, Toolroom, Manufacturing and Quality teams.
- Conduct customer visits across the UK.
- Maintain CRM records and sales forecasts.
- Represent the business at industry events and exhibitions.

- Strong knowledge of injection mould tooling and tool manufacture.
- Understanding of toolroom processes including CNC machining and EDM.
- Experience within precision engineering, tooling, automotive or aerospace manufacturing.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD data.
- Technical sales, account management, business development or customer-facing engineering experience.
- Commercial awareness and strong communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
