The Opportunity

Paradigm Employment Services is recruiting an experienced Care / Childcare Solicitor to join the expanding Care & Private Children Law team of an established and highly regarded South Wales law firm. This is an excellent opportunity for a Solicitor with experience in public and/or private children law who is looking to join a supportive, progressive practice offering high-quality work, career development and the opportunity to become part of a growing regional team.

The Role

You will manage a varied caseload of care proceedings and related children law matters, providing high-quality legal advice and representation to clients throughout often complex and sensitive circumstances. Depending on your experience, your work may include:

  • Care proceedings and public children law matters
  • Private children proceedings
  • Child arrangements and related applications
  • Advising and representing parents and other family members
  • Advocacy and court representation
  • Preparing cases, applications and supporting documentation
  • Liaising with clients, counsel, local authorities and other professionals
  • Managing your own caseload effectively and meeting relevant deadlines
  • Maintaining excellent standards of client care, compliance and confidentiality
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider Care and Children Law team

About You

We would particularly like to hear from Solicitors who can demonstrate:

  • Ideally 3+ years' PQE, although relevant experience will be considered
  • Experience within Care, Childcare, Public Children and/or Private Children Law
  • Experience dealing with care proceedings
  • Strong advocacy and client representation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • The ability to manage a busy and varied caseload
  • A sensitive and empathetic approach when supporting clients
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail
  • A collaborative, team-focused approach
  • A genuine commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for children and families
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle will be required due to the nature of the role and occasional travel between offices.
