Salary: £14.48 per hour / £28,253 per annum

Overtime available

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Thursday 7.30am - 4pm & Friday 7.30am - 1pm

An opportunity has arisen for an established engineering company based in Poole. The company are going through a period of growth where they have an established order book for the next 10 years and still growing! To meet customer demands they are now looking to add to the engineering team and are recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter.

The company are undertaking new build and repairs on the drive systems for special purpose vehicles. The company take pride in their products which are built to a high spec and any repairs to old systems are made to a 'like new' standard.

As the Mechanical Fitter you will be working as part of a small team in a hands-on, varied role with responsibilities including:

  • Disassembly and stripping down of the units
  • Assembling them back with new components and undertaking the repair or replacement of damaged parts
  • Assisting with inspection and testing
  • Working from engineering drawings and worksheets

We are looking for you to:

  • Have mechanical engineering, mechanics, mechanical fitting experience
  • Be inquisitive and have a good eye for detail
  • Possess experience of using a variety of hand tools including socket sets, screwdrivers, torque wrenches etc.

We would also be interested in hearing from those who have an interest/hobby in vehicle mechanics, repairing and fixing cars/motorbikes.
