Are you an experienced Electrician, Electrical Installation Engineer or Fire & Security Engineer looking to step off the tools and make a real difference by inspiring the next generation of industry professionals? On offer is an excellent opportunity to move into education with a highly respected college that will fully support your transition into teaching. Whether you come directly from industry or already have some training experience, you'll receive ongoing development, the opportunity to gain teaching qualifications, and long-term career progression.

Based within a modern Construction Skills Centre, you'll play a key role in delivering industry-leading apprenticeship training across Electrical Installation and Fire, Emergency & Security Systems. In this role, you'll deliver engaging practical and classroom-based teaching to apprentices and adult learners, supporting them to develop the technical knowledge, practical skills and professional behaviours required to succeed within the electrical and fire/security industries.

The ideal candidate will hold a Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation (or equivalent), have strong industry experience, and possess knowledge of electrical installation alongside fire alarm and/or electronic security systems. Previous teaching experience is beneficial but not essential, as full teacher training can be provided.

The Role

  • Deliver practical and classroom-based teaching across Electrical Installation and Fire & Security programmes
  • Teach apprentices and adult learners within workshop and simulated industry environments
  • Carry out learner assessments, progress reviews and provide ongoing mentoring

The Person

  • Level 3 NVQ/Diploma (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation
  • Strong industry experience within Electrical Installation, Building Services or a related sector
  • Knowledge or experience of Fire Alarm and/or Electronic Security Systems
  • Passionate about developing others and keen to move into teaching
  • Teaching qualification desirable but not essential (full training available)
