We're excited to offer a brilliant opportunity for an Internal Legal Counsel role supporting on commercial contracts based in Oldbury.

About the role:

We are seeking a commercially minded Internal Legal Counsel to join our growing business. This role will provide pragmatic and solutions-focused legal support across the organisation, with a particular emphasis on the review, drafting, negotiation, and management of commercial contracts. Working closely with internal stakeholders including our Branch and Regional Managers, Sales, Procurement, Commercial, Operations, and Project Teams, you will play a key role in minimising legal risk whilst supporting the delivery of business objectives. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified lawyer who enjoys partnering with the business and providing practical legal advice within a dynamic engineering environment.

The successful candidate will not be afraid to challenge in the right way, you have excellent influencing skills with the ability to confidently communicate at all levels. You will be the type of person who enjoys working on an autonomous basis, you be able to pick up a multitude of things and balance multiple priorities, you won't be afraid to get stuck in and love being in the detail of things like risk registers and commercial contract review processes. This is an excellent opportunity where output is measured by your engagement of stakeholders, timely completion of work and successful contract negotiations.

What we're looking for in our Internal Legal Counsel:

  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or equivalent legal professional with a valid practising certificate
  • Experience reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial contracts
  • Strong understanding of contract law and commercial risk management
  • Ability to provide practical, business-focused legal advice
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical capability
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
