Description
- Provide competent, practical and solution-focused health and safety advice to operational managers, supervisors and employees
- Carry out regular site inspections, audits and compliance reviews, ensuring actions are clearly recorded, owned, tracked and closed out.
- Advise on risk assessments, method statements, safe systems of work, contractor controls, permit-to-work arrangements and high-risk activities.
- Coach, influence and constructively challenge colleagues so Safety First is reflected in day-to-day decisions.
- Support regulatory, customer, insurance and certification audits, including preparation, evidence gathering, follow-up actions and lessons learned.
- Monitor health and safety performance data, identify trends and produce clear recommendations for managers and senior stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records, action trackers and evidence so that health and safety activity is reliable and audit-ready.
- Lead and support investigations into accidents, incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions, applying root cause analysis and ensuring actions are implemented.
- Develop and deliver inductions, toolbox talks, briefings and targeted training that engage operational teams.
- Track improvement actions from audits, inspections, incidents and performance reviews so ownership, timescales and progress are clear

Profile
- NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum) or equivalent H&S qualification.
- IOSH Technical Member (TechIOSH) or actively working towards membership.
- Strong knowledge of UK health & safety legislation and practical application
- Is able to conduct site inspections and compliance audits.
- Write and reviewed risk assessments and RAMS.
- Lead incident investigations and implemented corrective actions.
- Influence operational managers and frontline teams.
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Able to travel 80% of the time in Nottingham- 20% Leicester
