The role

As a Commercial Account Executive, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with a diverse portfolio of commercial clients, ranging from SMEs and local businesses through to larger corporate organisations.

You will identify opportunities to win new business, strengthen existing client relationships and provide expert advice across a broad range of Commercial Insurance products.

This role offers a highly consultative approach, allowing you to become a trusted adviser to your clients whilst building a profitable and sustainable portfolio.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and grow a portfolio of Commercial Insurance clients.
  • Generate new business through networking, referrals, marketing activity and relationship building.
  • Build long-term relationships with business owners, directors and key decision makers.
  • Conduct client reviews and risk assessments.
  • Deliver tailored insurance solutions across multiple commercial insurance classes.
  • Negotiate competitive terms with insurers and underwriters.
  • Manage renewals, cross-selling and account development opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with internal broking and Account Handler teams.
  • Maintain accurate client and market records using internal systems and CRM platforms.
  • Represent the business professionally within the local business community.

About you

  • Previous experience as a Commercial Account Executive, Commercial Broker or Business Development Executive within an insurance brokerage.
  • Proven ability to win new business and build long-term client relationships.
  • Strong knowledge of Commercial Insurance products.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Commercially driven and customer focused.
  • Ability to work independently whilst contributing positively to a wider team environment.
  • Experience using Acturis (Desirable).
  • Progress towards Cert CII or higher insurance qualifications (Desirable).
  • Experience handling Property, Liability, Professional Indemnity, Motor Fleet, Cyber and associated commercial insurance products (Desirable).
  • Existing network of local business contacts (Desirable).
