Tax Accountant (Semi Senior / Senior)

An established and growing accountancy practice is looking to recruit a Tax Accountant to join its expanding tax team.

Applications are welcomed from both Semi Senior and Senior level candidates, with responsibilities and progression tailored to your experience.

The Role

  • Manage a portfolio of clients, delivering personal and corporate tax compliance services.
  • Prepare tax returns for individuals, companies, partnerships and trusts.
  • Assist clients with a variety of tax-related queries, providing practical and professional advice.
  • Support tax planning activities, including work relating to directors and owner-managed businesses.
  • Review client records and ensure all compliance work is completed accurately and within deadlines.
  • Liaise directly with clients, building strong relationships and providing an excellent level of service.
  • Work closely with colleagues across the practice to deliver efficient and effective client solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve internal processes and contribute to the ongoing development of the tax function.
  • Keep up to date with changes in tax legislation and maintain high technical standards.
  • Additional Responsibilities (Senior Level)
  • Review the work of junior team members and provide constructive feedback.
  • Mentor and support less experienced colleagues as they develop their careers.
  • Take greater ownership of client relationships and oversee day-to-day portfolio management.
  • Assist with workflow planning and contribute to the continued growth and success of the department.

About You

  • ATT qualified, part-qualified or currently studying towards a recognised tax qualification. Candidates working towards CTA will also be considered.
  • Previous experience working within an accountancy practice in a personal and/or corporate tax role.
  • Confident preparing tax returns and managing client relationships.
  • Strong understanding of UK tax compliance.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
  • A professional communicator with a client-focused approach.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality work.
