The Job You'll Do
- Ensuring materials are purchased at the most cost-effective price and in the most cost-effective way
- Monthly monitoring of suppliers' performance and co-ordinating associated progress activities
- Working together with other departments within the business on a daily basis, ensuring purchase process is followed.
- General system/departmental administration support to ensure system accuracy, purchase order issue and data is maintained.
- Support project teams where new projects are being introduced
- Capable of working autonomously with objectives being set by the Lead Buyer or wider Purchase management structure.
- Monitoring of cost throughout projects, identifying and tracking cost drivers
- Capable of cascading targets and objectives to sub-suppliers and ensuring targets and objectives are achieved
- Support Cost down projects and purchase requirements
- Work within project teams developing and adhering to project timing requirements
About You
- Experience within a purchasing, procurement or buying function within an engineering/manufacturing business
- Possess a strong interest in Business topics with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
- A strong problem-solving ability is necessary with the drive & tenacity to follow issues through to satisfactory completion.
- Flexible, team-oriented and self-motivated approach to work.
- General computer literacy with a working knowledge of all relevant software packages such as Word, Excel, Power Point and Project
