This role involves the safe and efficient operation of production and mobile plant equipment, including shredding, blending and milling systems, with the majority of time spent operating a front-end loader.

You will support production targets by conducting regular equipment checks, maintaining high housekeeping standards and working collaboratively with production and maintenance teams.

  • Description
  • Safely and efficiently operate production equipment, including shredding, blending and milling plant, as well as mobile plant
  • Operate a front-end loader for the majority of the shift, with regular equipment and process checks
  • Step on and off machinery to carry out inspections, checks and general production support tasks
  • Complete pre-shift inspections and operate mobile plant (FLT training provided)
  • Perform basic (level-one) maintenance and promptly report equipment defects
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards across the production area
  • Work to meet production targets and deadlines while ensuring product quality
  • Follow all health, safety and environmental (HSE) protocols and report any incidents immediately
  • Collaborate effectively with production and maintenance teams
  • Support and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

You will have

  • A valid loading shovel licence
  • A valid driving licence
  • Good numeracy, literacy and IT skills
  • A strong understanding of health, safety and environmental (HSE) protocols
  • Previous industrial experience (preferred)
  • Strong communication skills with a safety-first mindset

  • Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week, day shift only
  • Rotating Shift pattern: 6am - 2pm and 2pm - 10pm Monday to Friday
  • Salary: £27,573.14 per annum + £1.918.80 Shift allowance
