Reed Practice is delighted to be partnering once again with a small but mighty accountancy firm in Suffolk to recruit an experienced Senior Accountant or Client Manager.

The job title is flexible, so you can call yourself whatever suits your level of experience!

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a varied portfolio of clients
  • Preparation of financial statements for limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships, including associated business tax compliance work.
  • Preparation and review of VAT returns and self-assessment tax returns.
  • Providing financial analysis and practical recommendations to clients and colleagues.
  • Supporting with more detailed and complex assignments when required.
  • Managing job budgets, ensuring work is completed efficiently and within agreed timescales, and explaining any variances where necessary.
  • Maintaining the firm's quality assurance standards and delivering excellent client care.
  • Building and maintaining strong, trusted client relationships.

About You

We are open to speaking with candidates at different levels, from Senior Accountant through to Client Manager.

We would even welcome conversations with experienced Directors seeking a better work-life balance through a 3-4 day working week.

To thrive in this role, and be considered, you will have

  • ACA or ACCA qualification or be qualified by experience.
  • Previous experience working within a UK accountancy practice.
  • A strong understanding of UK accounting principles and current accounting practices.
  • Experience using accounting and reporting software such as Xero, Quick Books, Sage, Freeagent and/or Iris.
  • Payroll knowledge would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • You'll also possess the personal qualities needed to succeed in practice, including:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • The ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • A proactive, positive approach and a genuine team-player mentality.
