Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Senior Commercial Account Handler / Broking Manager to join their established Newcastle team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Commercial Account Handler, Senior Broker, or Broking Team Leader who enjoys managing complex commercial risks, building long-term client relationships, and mentoring colleagues within a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities
- Partner with Account Executives to retain existing clients and support the growth of new commercial insurance business.
- Negotiate competitive renewal and new business terms with insurers on behalf of clients.
- Prepare and manage all client documentation, including new business, renewals, endorsements, and mid-term adjustments.
- Review policy documentation to ensure accuracy and alignment with clients' insurance requirements.
- Deliver exceptional day-to-day account management and customer service across a diverse commercial portfolio.
- Attend client meetings, providing professional support and maintaining accurate meeting records.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, prospects, insurer partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Act as a technical referral point within the team, providing support and guidance to colleagues.
- Mentor and develop junior team members, helping to maintain high standards of service and technical expertise.
- Assist with training and development initiatives across the wider broking team.
- Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with FCA regulations, compliance standards, and company procedures.
- Stay informed of market developments, insurer appetite changes, and industry trends.
- Handle inbound and outbound client communications professionally and efficiently.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have
- Previous Commercial Insurance experience gained within a broker environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of commercial insurance products and markets.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to secure favourable outcomes for clients.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- A proactive and customer-focused approach to account management.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Previous mentoring, supervisory, or team leadership experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
