Legal Secretary (Part Time)

Reed Newcastle are currently supporting a well-established and highly regarded law firm in the recruitment of an experienced Legal Secretary to join their Commercial team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and professional legal practice based in Newcastle city centre.

The role is part time, working 16 hours per week, and would suit an experienced Legal Secretary looking for a flexible position within a supportive and collaborative legal environment.

Previous experience working as a Legal Secretary within a law firm is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Department, duties will include

  • Copy typing and document production.
  • Ensuring documents are filed accurately, both electronically and in hard copy.
  • Acting as a point of contact for clients and handling enquiries professionally.
  • Assisting with the preparation and management of legal documentation.
  • Copying, preparing and dispatching correspondence and legal documentation.
  • Managing diaries, arranging meetings and coordinating appointments.
  • Providing high-quality secretarial and administrative support to fee earners and solicitors within the Commercial team.

Skills & Experience Required

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate

  • Excellent typing speed and accuracy.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and word processing systems.
  • Previous experience working within a legal secretarial role.
  • The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Outstanding organisational and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of legal terminology and legal documentation processes.
