Are you an experienced Motor Claims Handler looking for a role with autonomy, variety, and the chance to deepen your knowledge of insurance risks?

We're recruiting on behalf of a respected insurance organisation that is expanding its specialist motor claims function with two new positions.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong motor claims experience who enjoys managing their own caseload while delivering exceptional customer service.

Details

As a Motor Claims Handler, you will manage a diverse portfolio of motor claims, including first-party, third-party, and property damage.

You will work independently while being supported by a wider team, ensuring each claim progresses smoothly and efficiently.

You'll liaise with customers, insurers, accident management companies, and other key stakeholders, taking ownership of both straightforward and more complex cases, including disputes, recoveries, and potential fraud referrals.

This role also offers the opportunity to broaden your expertise through training, qualifications, and exposure to specialist insurance claims.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a varied caseload of motor claims
  • Investigating liability, resolving disputes, and settling claims effectively
  • Providing excellent customer service to clients and policyholders
  • Identifying fraud indicators and recovery opportunities
  • Managing complaints professionally and in line with guidelines
  • Collaborating with internal and external partners
  • Ensuring accurate, timely progression of all claims
  • Completing mandatory compliance and internal training modules
  • Potential involvement in credit hire and personal injury claims

What We're Looking For
Essential

  • Previous experience in motor insurance claims handling
  • Strong understanding of motor liability
  • Experience in customer service and complaint resolution
  • Knowledge of fraud, recoveries, and claims leakage
  • Ability to manage a caseload independently
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Good IT skills and the ability to work across multiple systems
  • Ability to remain focused and productive during high-volume periods
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection standards

Desirable

  • Cert CII (or working towards it)
  • UK driving licence
  • Experience in process improvement
