The Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Management Accountant to join the finance team of a successful, growing business in Marlow.

Working directly with the CFO, you'll play an important role in the day-to-day running of the finance function, taking ownership of monthly management accounts while providing accurate financial reporting and valuable commercial insight to support business decisions.

This is a varied, hands-on position that would suit someone who enjoys working in an entrepreneurial SME environment and wants genuine responsibility, autonomy and exposure to senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting.
  • Manage month-end journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
  • Monitor cash flow and prepare regular cash flow forecasts.
  • Oversee purchase and sales ledger activities.
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns.
  • Support year-end accounts and liaise with external accountants and auditors.
  • Assist the CFO with financial planning, reporting and analysis.
  • Provide financial insight to support operational and commercial decision-making.
  • Support project profitability reporting and cost analysis.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, systems and internal controls.
  • Assist with ad hoc finance projects as the business continues to grow.

About You
We're looking for a proactive, commercially minded finance professional who enjoys being hands-on and working collaboratively within a growing business.

You'll ideally have

  • ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualified
  • Previous experience in a Management Accountant position.
  • Strong month-end accounting experience.
  • Excellent Excel skills and confidence using accounting software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • A positive, proactive approach and excellent communication skills.
