We are working with a top 10 accountancy firm in their search for a Private Client Tax Senior to join their Manchester office.
Job description
You will work with a diverse portfolio of private clients, including high-net-worth individuals, trusts, non-residents and non-domiciled individuals, providing both compliance support and advisory assistance across a broad range of personal tax matters. This role would suit a proactive tax professional with strong private client experience who is looking to take greater ownership of client relationships while developing their career within a specialist advisory environment.
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of private clients, taking increasing ownership of client relationships and ongoing compliance
- Act as a key point of contact, keeping clients informed of changes to legislation and their personal tax obligations
- Prepare and review personal tax returns and computations
- Support senior team members and Partners with complex private client advisory projects
- Advise and assist with areas including succession planning, inheritance tax, trusts, family investment structures and residency matters
- Identify tax planning opportunities and proactively highlight potential issues and opportunities to clients
- Work closely with colleagues across tax and wider service lines to provide a joined-up service
- Support business development by identifying opportunities within the existing client base
- Maintain strong client relationships and develop a detailed understanding of their personal circumstances
- Ensure all work is delivered in line with internal risk management and compliance procedures
Ideal Candidate:
- CTA or ATT qualified, or qualified by experience
- At least 5 years' relevant private client tax experience
- Previous experience within a Personal Tax, Private Client or Mixed Tax role in an accountancy practice
- Strong technical knowledge across personal and private client taxation
- Experience working with HNW individuals, trusts and/or international private clients would be advantageous
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Commercially minded with the ability to identify tax planning and advisory opportunities
- Proactive, organised and comfortable taking ownership of client relationships
- Genuine interest in developing a long-term career within private client advisory
