They combine specialist expertise with the scale and resource of an international network. They're looking for a technically strong Engineer to join their Subsidence team as Surveyor/Engineer. This is a remote role for a confident, client-facing engineer who enjoys the variety of subsidence and property claims work – site inspections, technical assessment, and clear reporting that drives liability and settlement decisions.
What you'll be doing:
- Handling subsidence claims and providing technical support to Adjusters within your area of specialism.
- Carrying out site visits, investigating claims, and preparing case management plans.
- Producing detailed reports covering policy analysis, liability, quantum and future actions.
- Instructing and directing other technical specialists as required.
- Calculating and agreeing interim payments and final settlements.
- Recommending and reviewing repair/mitigation solutions – underpinning, drainage, vegetation management and other remedial works.
- Providing expert technical input on causation, including support for litigation, complaints and recoveries where needed.
- Keeping up to date with technical and legal developments affecting your specialism, and ensuring full regulatory compliance.
What you'll bring:
- Professionally qualified Civil or Structural Engineer (Chartered, or working towards chartership).
- Relevant experience in civil/structural engineering, claims investigation or a related technical environment.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with real attention to detail.
- A clear, confident communicator who builds trust with clients, contractors and colleagues.
- Well organised, able to manage a varied workload against SLAs and targets.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a wider team.
- Willingness to travel across the UK on a regular basis.
- ACII and/or ACILA qualifications are a plus, though not essential.
