The Opportunity

The firm is looking to appoint a Senior Accountant to manage a portfolio of clients, providing a proactive and professional service while working closely with senior leadership.
This role is ideal for an experienced practice accountant looking for greater ownership, client interaction and long-term career progression within a collaborative team.
The Role As a Senior Accountant, you'll take responsibility for your own client portfolio, building trusted relationships while ensuring a consistently high level of service.
Responsibilities will include
- Managing a portfolio of owner-managed business clients from start to finish
- Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts
- Preparing corporation tax returns
- Acting as the primary point of contact for clients
- Leading client meetings and providing proactive accounting advice
- Preparing accounts in accordance with FRS 102 and FRS 105
- Managing deadlines and ensuring timely delivery of work
- Working closely with Managers and Directors on more complex assignments
- Identifying opportunities to add value through advisory services
- Supporting junior members of the team where required
- The Candidate
The successful candidate will ideally have
- ACA or ACCA qualified (or qualified by experience)
- Strong experience within UK accountancy practice
- Previous experience managing a portfolio of clients independently
- Excellent knowledge of FRS 102 and FRS 105
- Experience preparing corporation tax returns
- Strong client-facing and relationship management skills
- Experience leading client meetings
- Personal tax experience would be advantageous but is not essential
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
