A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a talented Real Estate Finance / Commercial Real Estate Solicitor to join a highly regarded international law firm undertaking sophisticated, high-value work for clients across the UK and internationally.

The firm operates at Magic Circle level in terms of the quality and complexity of its work, whilst offering the opportunity to work in a more entrepreneurial, partner-led and commercially focused environment.

This is an unusual opportunity for a solicitor who does not want to be restricted to a narrow property specialism.

The role will involve a broad mix of Real Estate Finance and general Commercial Real Estate, making it particularly well suited to someone who enjoys variety and is comfortable turning their hand to different aspects of transactional property work.

The firm acts for a sophisticated client base including institutional investors, investment funds, banks, specialist lenders, developers, family offices, international investors and corporate borrowers, with matters frequently involving significant transaction values and international elements.

Role:
You will work closely with senior lawyers and partners on a varied portfolio of commercial real estate and real estate finance transactions, taking a meaningful level of responsibility for matters from inception through to completion.

The role is likely to include

  • Advising lenders, borrowers, investors and developers on real estate finance transactions.
  • Commercial property acquisitions and disposals involving offices, retail, industrial, mixed-use, development and investment assets.
  • Drafting and negotiating commercial leases, agreements for lease, licences and related landlord and tenant documentation.
  • Advising on property development, forward funding, development finance and associated documentation.
  • Supporting international and cross-border transactions, working alongside overseas counsel where required.

The firm's real estate practice is very broad and highly sophisticated.

They cover a broad spectrum of commercial property work, both nationally and internationally.

The practice acts for clients ranging from entrepreneurs and family offices to institutional investors, funds, developers and financial institutions, including international clients investing into the UK market.

You:
The ideal candidate will be a commercially minded Real Estate Solicitor / Property Solicitor / Real Estate Finance Solicitor with experience in one or both of the core areas.

You may currently be working in

  • Real Estate Finance
  • Transactional Commercial Property
  • Banking & Finance with a property finance focus
  • Commercial Real Estate
  • Real Estate Investment
  • Development Finance
  • Property Finance

Most importantly, you will be someone who is flexible and technically strong enough to move between real estate finance and general commercial property work.
You should have:

  • Qualified Solicitor status in England & Wales.
  • Strong experience in commercial real estate and/or real estate finance.
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Experience acting for sophisticated institutional, corporate or private clients.
  • The ability to manage transactions with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and client management skills.
  • A willingness to work across different types of property and finance matters.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with lawyers across different practice areas and jurisdictions.
