Holiday: 25 days MRD Recruitment are working on behalf of our client to recruit a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their established manufacturing operation in Manchester.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a skilled engineering team, providing planned and reactive maintenance support across production plant, equipment and facilities.

The Role Working as part of a cross-functional engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, reliability and efficiency of production equipment.

Key responsibilities include

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and repairs.
  • Responding quickly and effectively to equipment breakdowns.
  • Diagnosing faults and taking corrective action.
  • Supporting Shift Engineers with day-to-day engineering requirements.
  • Ensuring all work meets required Health & Safety, Food Safety and Hygiene standards.
  • Using CMMS systems/tablets to accurately record maintenance activity and manage stock.
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and improved equipment reliability.
  • Supporting the installation, modification and improvement of plant and equipment.
  • Assisting with the training and development of fellow engineers and operator-technicians.
  • Working to strict planned maintenance schedules and ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.

About You We're looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer with a strong background in plant maintenance who enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment. Essential:

  • Experience in plant/equipment maintenance.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Thorough and methodical approach to maintenance.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Good understanding of food safety culture.
  • Strong commitment to Health & Safety.

Desirable

  • Mechanical Engineering qualification/experience.
  • FMCG or food manufacturing experience.
  • 18th Edition.
  • IPAF.
  • PLC programming/diagnostic experience.
