Your new company
A well-established owner-managed business with annual turnover of circa £50m is seeking an experienced Interim Head of Finance to support the organisation through a key period of transition.

Operating within the manufacturing and FMCG sector, the business has manufacturing operations internationally and supplies to a major UK retailer, providing a fast-paced and commercially focused environment.

This is a highly visible role within a growing business that is focused on continuous improvement and transformation.

Your new role
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will lead the finance function during a critical handover period following the departure of the current post holder.

Managing a sizeable team, you will take ownership of all core finance activities while providing leadership and stability across the function.

Key responsibilities will include overseeing month-end reporting, statutory accounts preparation, audit management, budgeting and forecasting, treasury and cash flow management, working capital optimisation, foreign exchange exposure, financial controls and compliance.

You will also support the business through ongoing finance transformation and process improvement initiatives, helping to drive efficiencies and strengthen reporting capabilities.

This is an interim assignment offering a daily rate of £400-£475 per day for an initial period of up to five months, with an expectation of three days per week on-site in East Manchester/Tameside.

The role will require a strong hands-on approach whilst maintaining a strategic overview of the wider finance function.

  • What you'll need to succeed
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
  • Previous experience operating as a Financial Controller, Head of Finance or similar senior finance leadership role.
  • Manufacturing, consumer products or FMCG sector experience.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including statutory reporting and audit management.
  • Proven experience leading, developing and managing finance teams.
  • Experience of finance transformation, process improvement and systems development.
  • Exposure to foreign currency management would be advantageous.
  • Ability to operate effectively within an owner-managed business environment.
