A Top Tier law firm based in Manchester City Centre is looking for a Court of Protection Solicitor to join its specialist Private Client team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a firm with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality legal services to vulnerable clients. The successful candidate will work on a varied and rewarding caseload, supporting individuals who lack capacity and helping to safeguard their financial affairs.
The Role
- Manage your own caseload of Court of Protection matters while working closely with experienced colleagues on more complex cases.
- Managing a caseload of Court of Protection deputyship matters.
- Preparing and progressing applications to the Court of Protection.
- Acting for professional and lay deputies.
- Advising clients, attorneys, deputies and family members on capacity-related matters.
- Managing clients' financial affairs, including property, investments and statutory reporting.
- Preparing annual reports for the Office of the Public Guardian.
About You
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales.
- Previous experience handling Court of Protection matters, ideally within a specialist Court of Protection or Private Client team.
- Strong knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Court of Protection procedures.
- Excellent communication and client care skills, with a compassionate and professional approach.
