An established and growing accountancy practice is looking for an experienced Corporate Tax Manager to join its Manchester team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional who enjoys combining technical expertise, client advisory work and relationship management, while working with a varied portfolio of businesses.
You'll work closely with privately owned businesses, groups and larger corporate clients, providing practical tax advice and helping clients navigate increasingly complex tax matters.
What will you be doing?
Your role will include
- Managing a varied portfolio of corporate tax clients.
- Overseeing corporate tax compliance assignments from start to finish.
- Reviewing corporation tax computations and returns.
- Providing corporate tax advisory support to clients.
- Advising on group structures, reorganisations and transactions.
- Supporting clients with acquisitions, disposals and other commercial activity.
- Identifying tax planning opportunities and additional advisory work.
- Building strong relationships with clients and becoming a trusted point of contact.
- Working alongside accounts, audit and wider advisory teams.
- Reviewing and developing work prepared by more junior members of the team.
- Supporting the development and mentoring of junior staff.
- Contributing to business development and the continued growth of the tax team.

- Is ACA, CTA or ACCA qualified, or working towards qualification.
- Has strong corporate tax experience within UK accountancy practice.
- Has experience managing corporate tax clients and assignments.
- Has strong corporation tax technical knowledge.
- Enjoys working directly with clients and senior stakeholders.
- Can review complex tax computations and returns.
- Has a genuine interest in tax advisory work.
- Can manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities.
- Enjoys developing more junior members of the team.
- Is commercially aware and able to identify opportunities.
You'll ideally be operating at Assistant Manager/Manager level already, although strong candidates looking to step into management will also be considered.
