An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Audit & Accounts Senior to join a growing and well-established accountancy practice.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA or ACCA finalist or qualified accountant looking to develop their career within a supportive and collaborative team, working with a diverse portfolio of clients across a range of industries.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality audit and accounts services while building strong client relationships and supporting the development of junior team members.

  • What you will be doing as an Audit & Accounts Senior
  • Leading audit fieldwork for a broad range of clients.
  • Completing audit testing across key financial statement areas in accordance with International Standards on Auditing (ISAs).
  • Preparing clear and accurate audit working papers for manager review.
  • Assisting with audit planning, risk assessments and assignment scoping.
  • Monitoring audit budgets and ensuring assignments are delivered efficiently.
  • Identifying audit issues and communicating findings to management.
  • Supporting audit completion, including analytical reviews and clearance of review points.
  • Reviewing work completed by trainees and junior team members.
  • Preparing year-end statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders.
  • Producing high-quality working paper files ready for review.
  • Supporting and reviewing accounts preparation completed by junior staff.
  • Assisting clients with bookkeeping queries and accounting system improvements.
  • What you will need to succeed as an Audit & Accounts Senior
  • ACA or ACCA finalist or qualified.
  • Previous experience working within an accountancy practice in an audit and accounts role.
  • Experience leading audit fieldwork and preparing statutory accounts.
  • Strong knowledge of FRS 102, FRS 105 and International Standards on Auditing (ISAs).
  • Experience using audit software and cloud accounting platforms such as Xero or Quick Books.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify financial risks and provide practical solutions.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Experience supervising or mentoring junior staff would be advantageous.
