Assistant Client Manager - Manchester - £45,000 - £55,000I'm working on an exciting opportunity for an ACA/ACCA-qualified accountant who is ready to step beyond the traditional Senior Accountant role and take ownership of a portfolio, develop client relationships and lead a team.

The firm is a confidential progressive accountancy and business advisory firm, with offices across the UK and a reputation for creating a genuinely supportive and people-focused working environment.

What particularly caught my attention about this role is the balance between client responsibility, leadership and culture.

You'll have the autonomy to manage your own portfolio while working closely with experienced Directors and colleagues across the wider business.

  • What you'll be doing
  • Managing a varied portfolio of clients, including owner-managed businesses
  • Acting as a trusted point of contact and becoming someone clients rely on for advice
  • Overseeing the delivery of accounts and wider services
  • Leading, coaching and developing members of the accounts team
  • Working alongside Directors and other departments to deliver the best possible service
  • Identifying opportunities to strengthen existing relationships and support business growth
  • What they're looking for

This role would suit an ACA/ACCA-qualified Senior Accountant or Assistant Manager who is ready to take on more responsibility.

You'll ideally have

  • Strong experience within an accountancy practice
  • Experience managing a varied client portfolio
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • The confidence to lead and support junior team members
  • A commercial and client-focused mindset
  • Experience working with owner-managed businesses
  • Knowledge of CCH would be advantageous

Why consider it?

This isn't an environment where progression is simply about moving up a job title.

The firm places real emphasis on developing its people, giving individuals ownership and creating opportunities to broaden their experience.

There's also a genuinely sociable culture, with regular team, wellbeing and community activities.

The emphasis is on creating a workplace where people can perform at their best while enjoying the people they work alongside.

You'll also receive a strong benefits package including hybrid working, competitive salary, generous annual leave, learning and development support.

If you're currently a Senior Accountant or Assistant Manager and are looking for a role where you can broaden your responsibilities while working somewhere that genuinely values its people, I'd be keen to speak with you.
