Role:
We are seeking a commercially minded Financial Controller to work closely alongside the owner and play a key role in the oversight and development of a growing portfolio of businesses.
This is far more than a traditional finance position; the successful candidate will become a trusted adviser, providing financial leadership, operational support and strategic insight across multiple entities.
As the portfolio expands through acquisitions and disposals, the role will evolve significantly, offering a clear pathway towards a future Finance Director or Managing Director position for the right individual.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the financial management of a diverse portfolio of SME businesses.
- Produce timely and accurate management accounts, board reports and financial analysis.
- Monitor cash flow, budgeting and forecasting across multiple entities.
- Work closely with business leaders and the owner to support commercial decision-making.
- Assist with the financial evaluation, due diligence and integration of acquired businesses.
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability, efficiency and operational performance.

Desirable Skills
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
