Operations Manager (Testing and Inspection)

Macclesfield, Cheshire - Commutable from Wilmslow, Alderley Edge, Stockport, Buxton, Congleton and surrounding areas

£50,000 - £60,000 + Private Medical Insurance + Company Pension + On-Site Parking

Are you an experienced Operations Manager with a background in TIC (Testing, Inspection and Certification) looking for a senior role where you can have a genuine impact on the growth and day-to-day running of a specialist engineering business?

This is an opportunity to join a well-established specialist engineering and certification business with over 30 years of experience within machinery safety and compliance.

The company works across machinery safety and management system certification, supporting a range of clients across the UK and internationally.

The role is office-based and varied, covering everything from project delivery and business planning through to compliance, HR support, quality systems, training and office management.

You'll work closely with senior management and the wider engineering team, helping to improve processes, support growth and ensure the smooth running of the business.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced operations professional to take a key role within a growing specialist engineering business, with the autonomy to make improvements and play an important part in shaping the company's future.

The Role

  • Oversee client relationships, project delivery, work planning and business operations.
  • Manage and support the engineering and project management team, including training and development.
  • Improve back-office processes, administration and the company quality system.
  • Support compliance, health & safety, HR, data protection and wider business processes.
  • Provide professional support to senior management and contribute to business planning and continuous improvement.
  • The Person
  • Experience within the TIC industry, ideally with a machinery or engineering focus.
  • Previous experience in operations, office management or leadership of support services.
  • Strong people-management skills with the ability to influence and develop others.
  • Excellent organisation and project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Confident communicator with strong Microsoft Office skills and a professional, flexible approach.
