Join our dynamic team as a Warehouse Team Leader, where you will be instrumental in delivering safe, efficient, and high-performing warehouse operations within an assigned functional area.
This role is crucial for supervising daily activities, guiding Warehouse Operatives, and ensuring that operational plans are executed effectively to meet service, productivity, quality, and inventory accuracy targets.
Day-to-Day of the Role
- Inbound, Put-Away & Replenishment: Supervise inbound deliveries, ensuring goods are received and processed accurately.
Coordinate stock put-away and monitor replenishment activities to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Picking, Packing & Dispatch: Oversee picking, packing, and dispatch processes to ensure that customer orders are completed accurately and within service levels.
- Team Leadership & Performance: Allocate workloads, set daily priorities, and provide support to Warehouse Operatives.
Monitor and coach team performance to drive continuous improvement.
- Health, Safety & Compliance: Promote a positive safety culture, ensure compliance with company policies and Health & Safety requirements, and maintain high standards of housekeeping.
- Systems, Improvement & Communication: Support the effective use of the Warehouse Management System (WMS), contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and maintain effective communication across teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Warehouse Operations Experience: Proven experience in a fast-paced warehouse environment, with a strong understanding of warehouse processes from goods in to dispatch.
- Team Leadership & People
Management: Ability to lead and develop teams, with experience in people-management activities such as performance reviews and employee relations processes.
- Health, Safety & Compliance: Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and safe warehouse practices.
- Performance, Systems & Reporting: Experience with Warehouse Management Systems, monitoring KPIs, and using operational data to improve efficiency.
- Planning, Problem Solving & Decision Making: Strong planning and problem-solving skills, capable of making sound decisions and managing competing demands.
