Title: Family Solicitor & Accredited Family Mediator

A nationwide leading law firm is seeking experienced Family Solicitors for prestigious permanent roles within its expanding team.

About the Role

The firm is seeking a talented and ambitious Solicitor and Family Mediator (or solicitor with a strong interest in mediation) to support the continued growth of its family and children law services.

This role offers the opportunity to manage a varied caseload of child care and family matters while contributing to the development of the firm's family mediation offering.

The successful candidate will join a highly regarded team known for providing exceptional client service and achieving positive outcomes for children and families.

The firm is looking for a solicitor with a minimum of 2 years' PQE who is either an accredited Family Mediator or has a genuine interest in developing a mediation practice alongside their legal work.

This position would suit someone who is keen to play an active role in expanding mediation services, building professional relationships, and helping shape the future direction of the team.

About You

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate

Essential

  • Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales.
  • Minimum 2 years PQE in Child Care and/or Family Law.
  • Strong client care and communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational and case management abilities.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional client service.

Desirable

  • Family Mediation Accreditation Certificate.
  • Experience conducting family mediations across a range of issues.
  • Interest in developing a mediation practice alongside legal work.
  • Established professional network within the family law sector.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Report directly to Department Director
  • Responsible for all aspects of Family Law work including providing technical expertise and guidance to other team members
  • Ability to manage and supervise Solicitors, Trainee Solicitors and Caseworkers to manage appropriate caseload types and complexities
  • Assisting with delivery of appropriate training and development in the department
  • Variety of duties including dealing with a range of Family work including divorce, financial disputes and remedies, international elements of child abduction/ adoption, injunctions/ non molestation order and providing technical expertise and guidance to other team members
  • You will have a professional pro-active approach, strong client care skills and be interested in Business Development and Marketing to supplement the substantial work volumes brought in by the

  • Must have a clean, valid Practicing Certificate at the time of applying
  • Be committed and highly driven to provide an excellent standard of service to our clients
  • Strong management skills
  • Committed team player with ability to approach team concerns fairly, foster culture of positive change and encourage cross referrals
