Hales Group are recruiting for a CNC Machinist to join our client based in Lowestoft, Suffolk. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and growing engineering business, working within a busy workshop environment. Suitable for newly qualified machinists and candidates with some hands-on workshop experience, this role offers the opportunity to develop your CNC machining skills while working alongside an experienced and supportive team. This permanent position offers full-time hours on a rotating shift pattern, including early and late shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture precision components using CNC and manual machining methods under the guidance of experienced team members
- Support the set-up and operation of CNC milling and turning machines
- Work from engineering drawings and job specifications
- Assist with tooling changes, machine set-ups and production runs
- Carry out deburring, finishing and basic inspection activities
- Ensure all work meets required quality standards and specifications
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment
- Follow company procedures, including Quality and Health & Safety requirements
- Support wider workshop and production activities as required
Requirements
- Engineering or machining qualification preferred, although practical experience will also be considered
- Basic knowledge or understanding of CNC machining, milling or turning processes
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings would be advantageous
- Keen interest in developing CNC machining and programming skills
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable and flexible approach to work
- Full UK driving licence desirable
