Senior Treaty Technician
The Opportunity
A leading London Market insurance broker is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Treaty Technician to join its Technical Services team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong treaty reinsurance experience to support a diverse international portfolio, taking ownership of technical processing from placement through to premium settlement, treaty accounting and claims administration.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the technical servicing of proportional treaty business, ensuring accurate documentation, premium processing, treaty accounts reconciliation and excess of loss claims handling while working closely with brokers, clients, underwriters and finance teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Process proportional treaty accounts, premium adjustments and technical accounting in accordance with treaty terms.
- Monitor and reconcile treaty accounts, ensuring accurate reporting and timely resolution of outstanding items.
- Handle Excess of Loss claims and reinstatements from first notification through to settlement.
- Produce and review technical documentation to ensure accuracy throughout the placement and post-placement process.
- Process premiums and market transactions through the broker's policy administration systems.
- Prepare client accounting documentation and market submissions.
- Monitor premium settlements, support credit control activities and liaise with finance teams to resolve outstanding balances.
- Produce management information, including premium, brokerage, claims and renewal reporting.
- Maintain accurate electronic records and ensure a complete audit trail across all business handled.
- Build strong working relationships with brokers, clients, underwriters and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with FCA, Lloyd's and internal compliance standards.
Requirements
- Previous London Market experience within a Broker Technician, Treaty Technician or Technical Services role.
- Strong knowledge of Proportional Treaty Reinsurance, technical accounting and premium processing.
- Experience handling treaty claims, including Excess of Loss claims and reinstatements.
- Excellent understanding of London Market documentation and post-placement processes.
- Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise confidently with brokers, clients and underwriters.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Cert CII qualified, or working towards professional insurance qualifications, would be advantageous.
