I am currently partnering with one of my prestigious Law Firm clients to assist with the search for a, is seeking an experienced Senior Revenue Controller to join their finance team on a fixed-term basis.

This is a key role focused on managing working capital performance across designated business areas, ensuring the timely conversion of work in progress into billed and collected revenue.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior stakeholders, supporting strong financial discipline, efficient billing processes, and effective debt management.

This position would suit an individual with experience in a professional services environment who enjoys building relationships, driving financial performance, and influencing stakeholders to achieve commercial objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage work-in-progress and debt balances across assigned business areas.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to review work in progress, agree billing strategies, and drive timely invoicing.
  • Monitor financial performance against budgets and estimates, identifying risks and recommending corrective action where required.
  • Oversee the end-to-end billing process, ensuring compliance with client requirements and billing protocols.
  • Produce and present reporting on revenue, billing, and debt positions to key stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with credit control teams to accelerate cash collection and resolve outstanding debt issues.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support effective matter and revenue management.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting, and working capital performance.
  • Escalate financial risks and issues appropriately while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience managing the working capital cycle within a professional services environment.
  • Strong understanding of billing, revenue management, and accounts receivable processes.
  • Experience working within a legal, consultancy, accounting, or similar professional services setting.
  • Knowledge of VAT and relevant financial compliance requirements.
  • Understanding of industry-specific regulatory requirements would be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
