An established and growing accountancy practice is seeking an experienced Client Portfolio Manager to manage a portfolio of SME and owner-managed business clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships.
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients.
  • Prepare and review statutory accounts, corporation tax, and self-assessment tax returns.
  • Provide accounting, tax, and business advice.
  • Review work completed by junior team members and provide support and mentoring.
  • Liaise with HMRC and Companies House.
  • Manage deadlines and ensure compliance obligations are met.
  • Identify advisory and tax planning opportunities.

Requirements

  • ACA or ACCA qualified.
  • Minimum 3 years' recent UK accountancy practice experience.
  • Previous portfolio management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of statutory accounts, corporation tax, and self-assessment returns.
  • Experience reviewing junior staff work.
  • Proficient in IRIS and Xero.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Desirable

  • Experience with Quick Books and Sage.
  • HMRC enquiries and investigations experience.
  • Management accounts experience.
