Private Equity Tax Manager | London | £75,000-£85,000 + Bonus

A Private Equity tax role with genuine client ownership, advisory exposure and long-term progression.

If you're a qualified tax professional looking for a move that gives you more than simply another portfolio to manage, this could be worth a conversation.

We're working with a leading UK accountancy and business advisory firm with a strong reputation across the mid-market.

The firm works with entrepreneurial, high-growth and internationally focused businesses, providing specialist advice across tax, audit, deals and business advisory.

They're now looking to strengthen their Private Equity Tax team with an experienced Tax Manager who wants to develop their technical expertise, build strong client relationships and play a meaningful role in the continued growth of the team.

Why this role?

This isn't a role where you'll simply be reviewing compliance work from the sidelines.

You'll have the opportunity to own client relationships, manage a varied portfolio and get involved in increasingly complex tax advisory work, working closely with experienced Directors and Partners.

The team works with an interesting mix of Private Equity funds, investment partnerships, asset managers and professional services businesses, giving you exposure to a sophisticated and commercially minded client base.

You'll also have the opportunity to broaden your Private Equity knowledge while developing the commercial and relationship-management skills needed to progress towards Senior Manager and beyond.

The opportunity

You'll take responsibility for a portfolio of clients, acting as a trusted point of contact and ensuring they receive a high-quality, proactive service.

Your role will include

  • Managing and developing key client relationships.
  • Taking ownership of a portfolio across tax compliance and advisory.
  • Advising on a broad range of interesting and commercially relevant tax issues.
  • Working with Directors and Partners on more complex client matters.
  • Identifying opportunities to develop existing client relationships and generate new work.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across the UK and internationally.
  • Reviewing and overseeing the work of more junior team members.
  • Coaching and supporting the development of junior staff.
  • Taking responsibility for billing, risk management and delivery.
  • Building your knowledge and expertise across the Private Equity sector.

What we're looking for

We're interested in speaking with qualified tax professionals who are ready to take the next step in their career.

Ideally, you'll have

  • ACA, CTA or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong post-qualified experience within practice.
  • Experience across corporate, partnership, mixed tax or similar areas.
  • Exposure to tax compliance and advisory work.
  • An interest in, or some experience of, Private Equity, investment structures or fund-related taxation.
  • Experience managing client relationships and dealing with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience supervising, mentoring or developing junior team members.
  • Strong communication and commercial awareness.
  • A genuine interest in developing your technical and sector expertise.

Private Equity experience isn't essential if you have a strong tax background and the appetite to develop in this area.

What makes this different?

More ownership. More exposure. More opportunity.

You'll be joining a growing specialist team where you can work alongside people recognised as experts in their field, while still having the autonomy to build your own client relationships and reputation.

You'll get exposure to

Private Equity | Investment Partnerships | Asset Managers | Professional Services | UK & International Tax

And importantly, you'll have the support of experienced Directors and Partners while being given the space to develop your own career.

What's on offer?

Alongside the salary, you'll receive a strong benefits package, flexible/agile working and a clear framework for professional development.

More importantly, this is an opportunity to join a team where your contribution will be visible and where there is genuine scope to progress.

Interested?

If you're currently a Tax Manager, Assistant Manager ready for the next step, or an experienced Senior looking for a move into a more specialist environment, I'd be keen to have a confidential conversation.

You don't need to be actively looking.

If the opportunity to work with a sophisticated Private Equity client base, develop your advisory skillset and take greater ownership of your career sounds interesting, let's have a conversation.
