About the Role

Our client, a rapidly expanding and market leading software platform is looking for an experienced Management Accountant to play a central role in driving their financial planning, reporting, and operational efficiency as they enter their next stage of growth.

This is a hybrid role based three days per week in their Central London office and two days per week working from home.

The successful candidate will combine strong technical accounting expertise with commercial acumen, delivering accurate financial insights that empower strategic decision-making across the business.

Reporting directly to the senior finance leadership team, you will take ownership of the month-end management accounts, rolling forecasts, annual budgeting, and business partnering across commercial and operational departments.

  • Main responsibilities
  • Management Reporting & Month-End

Close: Owning the end-to-end month-end process, preparing detailed monthly management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow), accompanied by high-quality variance analysis and commentary.

  • Budgeting & Rolling

Forecasts: Leading the annual budgeting cycle and updating quarterly rolling financial forecasts, collaborating with business heads to align financial targets with strategic objectives.

  • Cash Flow & Treasury Management: Monitoring daily cash flow, managing short- and long-term liquidity projections, and overseeing working capital requirements.

Tracking: Developing, monitoring, and reporting key Saa S/platform metrics (e. g., Gross Sales Value, Net Revenue, Customer Acquisition Cost, Churn) to provide actionable insight for leadership.

  • Systems & Process

Improvement: Continuously refining financial controls, driving process automation, and optimising accounting software and reporting tools to support business scale.

  • Compliance & Audit: Managing annual audit preparation, statutory reporting, tax/VAT compliance, and assisting with regulatory filings.
  • Must-haves
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in management accounting, financial reporting, or FP&A roles.
  • Qualification: CIMA fully qualified preferred (or ACCA / ACA / equivalent professional qualification).
  • Technical Skills: Strong mastery of management accounting concepts, cash flow modeling, variance analysis, and operational financial controls.
  • Systems Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets and experience with modern cloud accounting software (e. g., Xero, Net Suite) and BI tools.
  • Commercial Acumen: Ability to look beyond the numbers, interpret complex data, and effectively communicate financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Problem Solving & Precision: High attention to detail, proactive mindset, and a strong sense of ownership over financial outputs.
  • Nice to have-
  • Experience working within a fast-growing technology or Saa S company.
  • Experience managing high-volume transactional data or marketplace revenue models.
  • Track record of implementing new finance software, automating reporting workflows, or improving operational unit economics.
  • Experience within a start-up, scale up, fast growth SME or investor backed business.
  • International experience.
