The firm is looking to appoint an IP Support Specialist to join its Patent Records team in London.

The role will focus on the accurate management of patent records, deadlines, correspondence and database information, working closely with Fee Earners, Partners and wider teams.

The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to contribute to process improvements and support the continued development of the Records function.

Role

  • Managing and maintaining accurate patent records and deadlines
  • Processing incoming correspondence and ensuring appropriate action is taken
  • Supporting new patent filings and post-filing requirements
  • Maintaining accurate information within Inprotech
  • Working closely with Fee Earners and Partners to ensure deadlines are met
  • Supporting process improvements and data integrity across the Records team

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring critical patent deadlines and following up with Fee Earners where necessary
  • Processing incoming correspondence and accurately recording relevant deadlines and actions
  • Opening new patent cases and maintaining existing Inprotech records
  • Updating records for assignments, changes of name, addresses and other relevant amendments
  • Managing patent reminders and diary systems
  • Preparing schedules and deadline reports for Fee Earners and clients
  • Recording publication details and associated deadlines
  • Processing the abandonment of pending patent applications
  • Checking, logging and filing new patent applications
  • Reviewing filing receipts and ensuring post-filing deadlines are accurately recorded
  • Monitoring EP third-year renewal fee instructions and ensuring timely payment
  • Producing reports to support data accuracy and client requirements
