Are you a Finance Systems specialist with experience fixing problems following an ERP implementation?
Have you worked extensively with Advanced Financials and know how to get more from the system?
Are you at your best when diagnosing problems and delivering practical solutions?
We're recruiting an Interim Finance Systems Specialist for an initial three-month project with a not-for-profit organisation experiencing challenges following the implementation of a new finance system.
The system is live, but several important areas are still reliant on cumbersome manual workarounds.
This assignment is about getting under the skin of the current configuration, identifying what isn't working and delivering tangible improvements.
Key priorities will include
- Undertaking a review of the current finance system configuration and identifying opportunities for improvement
- Resolving issues preventing effective automated bank and rent reconciliations
- Improving VAT functionality and supporting an effective MTD process
- Reviewing and improving budget uploads and management reporting functionality
- Developing greater automation and reducing reliance on manual processes
- Supporting the development of dashboards and, where possible, automated financial reporting
- Leaving behind robust, sustainable processes that the finance team can operate after the assignment
This is a genuine project assignment rather than a BAU finance role, working outside IR35.
You'll work closely with the finance team, using your systems expertise and accounting knowledge to diagnose issues and turn them into workable solutions.
This is an initial three-month contract, with the opportunity to work predominantly remotely.
We're looking for someone with
- Strong hands-on experience of Advanced Financials
- A track record of improving, troubleshooting or optimising finance systems
- Experience working with finance systems following implementation or migration
- A strong understanding of bank reconciliations, VAT, journals and financial reporting
- The ability to bridge the gap between Finance and systems/IT teams
- A pragmatic, investigative approach and confidence working independently
An accounting qualification isn't essential, and previous Social Housing experience would be useful rather than mandatory.
What's far more important is a strong understanding of how Finance works and evidence that you've successfully solved similar systems problems before.
If you're the sort of person who enjoys inheriting a finance systems problem, figuring out why it isn't working and leaving it considerably better than you found it, we'd love to hear from you.
