Edenbrook are currently partnering with a leading Specialty Insurer within the Lloyd's Market on a Head of Capital hire.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Capital team, including resource planning, performance, and staff development.
  • Oversee the maintenance, development, and validation of the internal capital model, ensuring it remains fit for purpose.
  • Produce and deliver capital modelling outputs and regulatory reporting (e. g. SCR, ORSA, reserve ranges, risk distributions) within agreed deadlines.
  • Collaborate with underwriting, pricing, reserving, finance, claims, reinsurance, and risk teams to support capital modelling and decision-making.
  • Present capital insights and recommendations to senior leadership and governance committees.
  • Maintain model documentation, governance, and change controls.
  • Conduct annual peer review of best estimate reserves to ensure consistency with capital model assumptions.
  • Key Skills & Experience
  • Strong knowledge of Lloyd's capital requirements and regulatory processes.
  • Extensive capital modelling experience, including at least 3 years in a senior role.
  • Experience using Tyche capital modelling software.
  • Experience presenting to Boards and senior executives.
  • University degree and/or relevant professional qualification (e. g. FIA or equivalent).
