My London based Local Government client is looking to recruit an experienced and qualified finance professional, with a background in SEND reform and High Needs, to join the team on a permanent basis.

Reporting into the Head of Finance, your role will be to implement the business partnering function for the assigned service area of Special Education Needs (SEND), supporting delivery of the SEND reforms as well as providing strategic support and financial advice.

To be considered for the role you will be an excellent technical accountant with a background in SEND, high needs and schools finance and day to day your role will include:

  • Be the lead finance business partner for the SEND reforms and associated transformation programmes, providing strategic financial advice and guidance.
  • Monitor and report SEND budgets, forecasts and mitigations.
  • Support the delivery of SEND improvement plans and deficit management.
  • Review the SEND system and business processes and suggest improvement opportunities.
  • Be the technical expert and provide detailed knowledge of all financial aspects of SEND and high needs.

This is a permanent role with 2 days a week required in the office and a salary range of circa £68,000 to £72,000.

In order to be considered for the role you will need to be able to demonstrate your previous experience of working at a senior level in a local government organisation as well as hands on experience of SEND and high Needs finance.
