About My Client
I am currently recruiting on behalf of a leading, multi-disciplinary construction business headquartered in London. Known for delivering high-profile infrastructure and commercial projects across the UK, they operate across several specialist divisions. Following a period of continued expansion and a forward-thinking push toward digital evolution, they are strengthening their central finance function to drive seamless integration, system efficiency, and AI-driven automation.
The Role
Working directly alongside the Group Finance Director, you will step into a high-visibility, project-led role designed to bridge central finance with key business functions. Beyond acting as the dedicated commercial partner to lead stakeholders across Legal, IT, and Procurement, you will play a hands-on role in the company's AI and digital transformation strategy—leveraging modern tech to automate financial workflows, optimise group spend, and upgrade predictive reporting across all operations.
Key Responsibilities
- AI & Finance Transformation: Partner with IT and central leadership to roll out AI tools, automated reporting workflows, and modern data architecture across the finance function to increase efficiency and predictive forecasting accuracy.
- Cross-Functional Business Partnering: Act as the primary finance lead for non-finance directors (Legal, IT, Procurement) to evaluate commercial contracts and optimise supply chain spend using data-driven insights.
- Finance & Systems Integration: Lead the financial and operational integration of newly acquired entities or business units, standardizing accounting processes and adopting group-wide digital systems.
- Commercial Analytics & Reporting: Develop clear, automated KPI dashboards and models that translate complex group spending patterns into actionable insights for executive leadership.
What My Client Is Looking For
- Qualification: Fully qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent) with demonstrable post-qualification experience.
- Sector Expertise: Direct experience within construction, engineering, property is preferred.
- Tech & AI Affinity: A strong interest or practical exposure to finance automation, AI implementation, business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI), or finance transformation projects.
- Functional Partnering: Proven track record of business partnering with non-finance teams—specifically IT, Procurement, or Legal—and driving cross-departmental initiatives.
- Technical & System Skills: Advanced financial modeling capability and familiarity with modern accounting platforms or construction-specific ERPs.
