Role: Employment Solicitor (2years+ PQE)

Recognised and recommended by The Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners, this top-tier firm is seeking an experienced Employment Solicitor to join its highly regarded Employment Department.

The Employment team advises employees and employers on a comprehensive range of employment law matters, acting for both claimants and respondents in Employment Tribunals, County Courts, and the High Court.

The team delivers practical, strategic advice from the outset of a matter through to resolution by negotiation, mediation, settlement, or litigation.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Report directly to the Department Director.
  • Manage a varied caseload of employment law matters from inception to conclusion.
  • Advise and represent clients on matters including: Unfair Dismissal; Discrimination Claims; Redundancy; TUPE; Breach of Contract; Conduct and Workplace Issues; Settlement Agreements; Mediation and Alternative Dispute Resolution
  • Undertake advocacy where appropriate.
  • Attend client meetings, take instructions, and prepare cases.
  • Draft legal documents, witness statements, and correspondence.
  • Maintain accurate time recording and file management procedures.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to colleagues when required.
  • Implement recommendations arising from file reviews in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental, regulatory, and firm-wide procedures.
  • Contribute to business development activities and help generate new business opportunities.

Experience and qualifications

  • Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 2 years' experience in Employment Law.
  • Hold a clean and valid Practising Certificate at the time of application.
  • Demonstrable experience handling privately funded employment law matters.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Employment Law and Employment Tribunal procedures.
  • Previous supervisory experience would be advantageous.
  • Experience undertaking your own advocacy is desirable.
  • Excellent client care and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Proven ability to work effectively towards key performance indicators.
  • Strong networking and business development skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and case/document management systems.
  • A professional, proactive, and team-oriented approach.
