Insure Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with one of the UK's largest and fastest-growing independent insurance brokers to recruit a Commercial Insurance Sales Manager for their newly established Vauxhall office.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Commercial Insurance leader to join a business investing heavily in growth, technology and people.

The office currently consists of approximately 10 employees and is forecast to double in size over the next 12–24 months, creating significant opportunities for both personal and team development.

With substantial investment behind the business and a clear growth strategy, this position offers the opportunity to play a pivotal role in building and developing one of the broker's flagship London operations.

This is far more than a traditional management role; it is an opportunity to influence culture, drive performance and shape the future direction of a growing division.

We are seeking a proven SME Commercial Insurance professional with strong E-Trade experience who can lead from the front, inspire a growing team and drive exceptional sales performance.

This role would suit an existing Team Leader, Sales Manager or Branch Manager professional ready to take the next step in their management career.

The Role

Reporting directly into senior leadership, you will be responsible for managing, developing and growing a high-performing team focused on SME Commercial Insurance business.

The operation is predominantly E-Trade driven, with business placed across a broad range of commercial insurance products and sectors including trades, construction, property owners, retail, hospitality, professional services and other SME risks.

This is a hands-on leadership role where visibility, coaching and leading by example are essential. You will be expected to support your team in achieving ambitious growth targets whilst maintaining excellent customer outcomes and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate and develop a team of Commercial Insurance Sales Executives.
  • Drive team performance against sales, conversion, retention and quality targets.
  • Lead from the front by demonstrating best practice sales behaviours and commercial insurance expertise.
  • Conduct regular coaching sessions, one-to-ones and performance reviews.
  • Recruit, onboard and develop new team members as the division expands.
  • Manage and monitor team KPIs, productivity and pipeline activity.
  • Analyse performance data and implement strategies to improve conversion rates and team performance.
  • Support the development of a positive, high-performance sales culture.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to execute growth plans for the London office.
  • Ensure FCA compliance, regulatory requirements and company standards are consistently achieved.
  • Build and maintain strong insurer and internal stakeholder relationships.
  • Identify opportunities to improve sales processes, efficiencies and customer experience.
  • Support business development initiatives and wider commercial objectives.
  • Candidate Requirements

We are keen to speak with individuals who can demonstrate

  • Previous management, team leader or supervisory experience within Commercial Insurance.
  • Strong SME Commercial Insurance knowledge.
  • Proven experience working with E-Trade platforms.
  • Experience managing high-volume new business and sales environments.
  • A track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong coaching, mentoring and people development skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Strong commercial awareness and business acumen.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach.
  • The ability to lead, influence and inspire a growing team.
  • Experience within a broker-led commercial insurance environment.
  • Strong understanding of SME trading models, insurer relationships and E-Trade placement strategies.

Desirable Experience

  • Acturis and/or Open GI experience.
  • Cert CII qualification or working towards professional qualifications.
  • Experience scaling, growing or restructuring sales teams.
  • Experience within a fast-growth commercial insurance environment.

  • Salary banding £40,000 - £50,000 basic salary depending on experience.
