Our client is an established mid-tier accountancy firm based in North London, providing accounting, tax and business advisory services to a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses, SMEs and private clients. As part of a Top 20 accountancy network, the firm combines the resources and technical expertise of a leading national organisation with the collaborative culture and partner exposure of an independent practice.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an Accounts Senior to join their expanding team.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of owner-managed businesses, SMEs and private clients
- Prepare statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders
- Prepare corporation tax computations and returns
- Prepare and review VAT returns, bookkeeping and management accounts
- Build strong client relationships and act as a key point of contact for day-to-day queries
- Liaise directly with clients to obtain accounting records and resolve outstanding matters
- Support clients with cloud accounting software and process improvements
- Assist with forecasts, cash flow reporting and management information where required
- Review the work of junior team members and provide coaching and support
- Work closely with Managers and Partners to deliver a high standard of client service
Requirements:
- ACA or ACCA qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience
- At least three years' experience within a UK accountancy practice
- Strong experience preparing statutory accounts under UK GAAP
- Experience preparing corporation tax computations and returns
- Previous responsibility for managing or supporting a portfolio of clients
- Confident communicator with strong client relationship skills
- Well organised with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Experience with cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, IRIS or CCH would be advantageous
- Previous experience reviewing junior team members' work would be beneficial
