Based in South London, this established accountancy practice is looking for a confident Client Manager who enjoys combining technical expertise with relationship management, team leadership and commercial thinking.
With a £50,000 - £60,000 salary, this is a strong opportunity for someone ready to progress.
The Opportunity
This Client Manager role would suit an experienced Assistant Manager ready for progression, or an established Client Manager looking for a more people-focused environment.
You'll have responsibility for a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses and other clients, acting as a trusted adviser while overseeing the delivery of high-quality accounts and advisory services.
You'll also have the opportunity to coach and develop junior team members, work alongside Directors and contribute to the continued growth of the practice.
- What you'll be doing
- Take ownership of a varied portfolio, managing client relationships from day-to-day through to more strategic discussions.
- Build strong, long-term relationships and become a trusted point of contact for your clients.
- Oversee the preparation and delivery of accounts, tax and wider advisory work.
- Lead, support and develop members of the accounts team, helping them reach their potential.
- Work closely with Directors and colleagues across the wider business to deliver a joined-up service.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen existing client relationships and support business development activity.
- Gain a strong understanding of your clients' businesses and provide commercially useful advice.
- Help maintain high standards across the team while ensuring deadlines and client expectations are consistently met.
What we're looking for
You'll ideally bring
- ACA or ACCA qualification.
- Previous experience within an accountancy practice at Assistant Manager or Manager level.
- Experience managing a portfolio of clients, ideally including owner-managed businesses.
- Strong technical knowledge across accounts and general practice work.
- Confident leadership and people-management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport at all levels.
- A proactive, commercially minded approach and a genuine interest in understanding clients' businesses.
- Confidence working with accounting technology; knowledge of CCH would be advantageous.
