Up to £55,000 + benefits
Central London | Hybrid working

I'm working with a well-established accountancy firm that is looking to appoint an Accounts Senior into its growing accounts team.

This is a strong opportunity for a technically capable, personable and confident accounts professional who enjoys client contact, wants to take on more responsibility and can play a visible leadership role within the team.

The firm is particularly keen to find someone who communicates well, builds strong client relationships and can support junior staff day to day.

Technical experience is important, but the right personality, leadership ability and client-facing approach are absolutely key.

The Role

This is a predominantly accounts-focused position, working with a varied portfolio of clients and taking ownership of statutory accounts, corporation tax computations, client relationships and team support.

You will manage clients from cradle to grave, prepare and review accounts, support workflow management and help develop junior members of the team.

Responsibilities will include

  • Managing a portfolio of clients from start to finish
  • Preparing statutory accounts for a varied client base
  • Preparing more complex accounts from scratch
  • Reviewing accounts ahead of partner review
  • Preparing and reviewing corporation tax computations
  • Acting as a key client contact and dealing with queries
  • Attending client meetings where required
  • Supporting the preparation and filing of accounts and tax returns
  • Helping monitor team workflows and deadlines
  • Training, mentoring and developing junior staff
  • Giving feedback and supporting team development
  • Identifying opportunities to provide additional services to clients
  • Supporting technical queries across the team

Experience with group consolidations or consolidated accounts would be a bonus, but is not essential.

What They're Looking For

The firm is looking for someone who can combine strong accounts experience with excellent communication skills and a natural ability to lead.

You will ideally have

  • ACA or ACCA qualification, or be newly qualified
  • At least 4-5 years' experience within accountancy practice
  • Strong statutory accounts preparation experience
  • Good corporation tax knowledge
  • Experience preparing or reviewing corporation tax computations
  • Confidence managing client relationships directly
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to train, support and develop junior team members
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in high-quality work
  • A personable, professional and commercially aware approach

Why Apply?

This is a strong opportunity for an Accounts Senior who wants more ownership, more client contact and a clearer leadership role within a friendly and professional practice environment.

The package includes

  • Salary up to £55,000 + benefits
  • Hybrid working
  • Varied client portfolio
  • Predominantly accounts-focused role
  • Exposure to statutory accounts, corporation tax and advisory-style client contact
  • Opportunity to support and develop junior staff
  • Clear chance to take on more responsibility
  • Supportive and personable team culture

This would suit an experienced Accounts Senior, or a newly qualified accountant with strong practice experience, who is ready to take more ownership and become a trusted client contact as well as a key support to the wider team.
